The Funky Cat brings playful, diverse and forward-thinking electronic music. Music that makes you dance, free from any boundaries. We build on a foundation of nice people and high energy, with a lick of art and mischief.

Geck-o & Friends will guide you through the night with an intense blend of music. Dance to psychedelic soundscapes, underground rave, groovy rhythms, bassy drums and twisted mindfucks.

The Outside Agency two hour cross-genre set
We had 50% of the agency with DJ Hidden last time, but it might just get even better at edition 12, with Eye-D joining for 110%. Not bound to genres and actually encouraged to cross them throughout the whole two hour set, you’re in for something special. Better tell your friends… the cats are listening.

D00d (DK) presents The Funky Dog album showcase
Ohhh damn, our arch enemy has infiltrated the line-up… That’s right, we can’t wait for our Great Dane to drop his new album (and our jaws)! Cats and dogs might get along really well at our daytime rave.

Geck-o
For the FIRST time EVER, …wait has this guy played every single of our events, does he host our radio show and has he really done the most releases on our label? Well then we guess you know you’re in for a serious trip with a long set by our favorite guru. Prepare for an intense experience of weird dance music!

bitface
The one, the only, the amazing, the summit of what cross-genre is all about… bitface! Everytime he plays at our party, he brings something brand new and extraordinarily exciting. To flow properly from the opening ceremony into serious rave vibes, bitface is our man!

Geck-o & bitface listening session
These guys have such an insane library of music they’d never dare to play in a regular set. Come around for the first hour of our event to witness their highly anticipated Listening Session! With bitface as the renowned master of obscure gems, and Geck-o as the bearded bringer of weird shit, you know you’re in for an experience. Come lay down, hang, float or – if you can – dance to their music, followed by the official opening ceremony.

De Helling in Utrecht provides the intimate setting that we love, combined with a big sound system! The city of Utrecht is located in the middle of The Netherlands, and is well reachable from all directions the wind blows.

Public transport: De Helling is situated right next to the Utrecht Vaartsche Rijn train/bus station, and is at walking distance from the Utrecht CS main station as well.

Parking: It’s paid parking in the area around De Helling, till 21:00. Check https://www.prettigparkeren.nl to find your parking spot!

Age restriction: 18+. In case of doubt, you may be asked to show your identification. Be sure to always bring a valid ID, passport or driver’s license with you.

Cloakroom: You can store your jackets, bags and other belongings at the cloakroom in the hall, for €1,50 per item.

Chill: Listen to your body. If you need a break from all the action, just take some chill time in the hall. Color your drawing of The Funky Cat, read some fascinating books and do lots of other stuff. Reload and get ready for more!

Merchandise: The Funky Cat t-shirts, music albums and art prints will be sold at the Merchandise stand in the hall.

Dress up: We have no dress code, so come as you like! But we encourage you to put on something that feels special for you.

Smoking: It is not allowed to smoke inside the venue, and there is no smoking room anymore. You can smoke outside, and you can get a stamp to get out-and-in.
